I have a Metabo orbital sander already & i have had it for nearly 15 years but it's 110v and I have a new 240v vacuum cleaner and it saves lugging around a transformer. Compared with my old one its improved immensely & and that's no slouch in terms of performance and reliability. Its lighter and easier to use. The method of changing the orbit can be a problem if you sand plaster on the older model as the button would stick the new model seems easier to do. The new model has a 17 hole base plate and therefore sucks up dust very well. It has a long flex which is good. . Nearly all my power tools are Metabo and the last for ever and easy to repair too. I bought my first in 1985 and I still have it.Their batteries and chargers are the fastest and best on the market. The cost of replacement batteries are reasonable too, compared say with Festool and last longer too.Read full review

Really impressed the fine finishing is amazing with the small orbit and the stock removal using the larger orbit size really makes a difference. I have been using this to prep wood for finishing it’s a huge improvement on my old RO sander.
