Customizing my Mossberg
I bought this to customize my Mossberg 500 Persuader. It took a few minutes to figure out how to get it to work, but once I got it done it really made my gun look more tactical. The only thing that I don't is that on the bottom of the grip there is a plastic piece that falls out after you pump the gun. This item would be 100% if it were solid as my hogue pistol grip is. So it gets a 90% grade. I have pics showing the difference of the 2.

Got this for my Maverick 88. Just like the old stock forgrip no action tube so it went right on . WoW ! am I happy it did . It did not help with the recoil . did not help me with accuracy and control when shooting. it is made really good . I made my cheep Maverrick into a Tactical Shotgun with all the stuff off EBay. It looks great but shots better with all the stock Mossburg stuff it came with , going to shot some more but thinking I may junk/sell the Tactical Shotgun parts go back to stock . Good Quality
The Tacstar tactical forend appears to be made of good quality polymer. It seams sturdy and does not "wobble" much at all after installation, less than the original one that came with the Maverick 88 12ga. One nice feature is the forend can detach from the rails ( which are supplied) so you don't have to disassemble the bolt assembly to remove it. The negative however is the screws that hold the forend to the rails are very small and do not tighten well into the plastic. I used a drop of thread lock on mine to prevent them from falling out. It was fairly simple to put in just make sure you look up a good video and there is one out there. Because there are some parts that will fall out if you’re working on a Mossberg Maverick model 88 - you’ll need to know where they go and just pay attention and watch the video first then attempt it. I like it. it looks good the only thing I don’t like about it is an order to pump it and it takes a little extra tug because you’re pulling on the handle instead of on the old style pump stock so you just have to learn how to pump it and I went a little further and filed the two rods down just a little bit on the top and bottom to make it slide in and out of the stock better, but that may of just been my shotgun. All - n - all, very pleased 😀

Tacstar* Forend Grip for Mossberg Maverick 88
This tactical forend was easy to install. It shipped with all of the necessary tools to install. Despite the videos out there stating this type of forend fits loosely when installed, it had a nice snug fit. It has a comfortable feel to it and is a nice addition to your shotgun for home defense. I would definitely Recommend this Forend.

Neat feature, but needs some work
The plastic forend grip is solid and feels high quality. I purchased this for a 20GA so it wobbles a bit more than if it were on a 12GA magazine tube. To alter the wobble I added 2 strips of "hairy" Velcro that were about 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches long to the top and bottom of the inside cylinder of the grip. Tactar pistol grip fore end

There aren't many options for the 88 when it comes to the front forend grip. Of your looking to turn it into a pistol vrip this is your best option. It's easy to install, and works great.
