Excellent Upgrade
This is genuinely an upgrade to the original parts; I was expecting the usual average set of parts marketed as an "upgrade", but it is far superior. The original piston seal feels stiff and 'squeaky' when new and never seems to seal quite right, but the new seal is firmer, and despite being quite hard to get into the new cylinder is a good tight fit, yet still runs silky smooth. The only thing I would say is that the instructional video isn't very clear if you've not done this before. Make sure when you 'insert the piston at 45° angle' you do it in the direction the piston normally moves, and make sure you remove the piston seal embedded in the head of the pump, as it;s usually compressed and often looks like it's not actually there. Not related to the actual kit, but still important: The head bolts on the pump are VERY easy to strip - DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THEM! I often find these stripped and if you do find a stripped one simply tap out one size larger and fit a length of threaded rod with a nylock nut. Leaving them loose will result in a pump no better than before with leaks, poor compression, continuous operation and eventually a burned out pump motor.

Great kit but maybe needs some options...
Great kit, P38 now raises between settings in 2-3 secs. Great to have the instructional video too - would be lost without it on first one. Some suggestions for options: a) the old triangular gasket on mine stuck around the bolt holes (too much original Loctite maybe), tearing off the outer edge of the gasket. How about an option to have the triangular gasket too ? b) The piston seal clamp ring was almost impossible to remove even after cutting away parts of the seal as per the video. The screwdrivers mangled the clamp ring and the lower piston rim, so I had to dress them both back to ensure no extension scored the bore of the liner. How about an option for you to supply piston, con-rod and crank with new seal fitted by you? - exchange part of old assembly... Keep up the good work; A+;
