Tapered sides funnel feed toward the back of the bucket, making feed and grain more accessible without the animal having to strain in an awkward position. The flat-back style provides stability against a wall or fence.
My quarter horse and 3/4 Arab love eating from these buckets. I had originally purchased the regular size, but they can actually see better from these big boys! You CANNOT leave these buckets in with your horses - if they get to scratching their itchy spots - you will have a messed up bucket. Not the bucket's fault - very heavy duty - but horses are heavy and strong. I put them out to feed, bring them in, rinse them out and I am ready for the next feed! Excellent bucket!!!
