New to Rods? Try Stagg Maple Light Drumstick Rods. Lightweight with great features.
I have never used Rods on a regular basis previously, as my preferred genre of music is harder edged blues/rock from the 60s and 70s. The band I now play with, however, is developing an acoustic set as an expansion to our original electric set and I have therefore been required to use rods as an alternative to my 'regular' choice of stick. I carried out some considerable research into the various types of rods currently on the market, and decided to try out Stagg Maple Light Drumstick Rods. Because of the construction and feel of the Stagg Rods I found the transition fairly easy, and am pleased with their performance. They are well constructed, great value and the balance is just right for me. I particularly like the ability to cross stick on my snare using the solid taped end of the rod bundle - a nice feature. I wouldn't say I am a 100% devotee to using rods but getting there ! Different horses for different courses they say. I recommend Stagg Maple Light Rods to anyone new to using rods, try them - they won't break your bank account and like me you will be converted.
