Quality Product
The Stihl Bypass Secateurs are a good quality, solid product. They are made from two cast sections with the blade attached by screws to one side. There is a rachet mechanism located at the pivot point which means that the blade can be adjusted in order to tighten it as it wears. Only one aspect concerned me when I initially received them and that was the latch which keeps the arms in the closed position was made of plastic, i would have rather seen this manufactured from metal, however so far it has performed perfectly so maybe my concern was not justified. I like these secateurs, they work well and are very capable of cutting branches up to 4mm thick with ease.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Modern Rubbish
I bought these because I had misplaced my old secateurs and these had some good reviews, unfortunately I can't say I agree with the other reviews. Within 6 weeks the whilst pruning a rose ( diameter 6mm), the spring fell off and got lost making them useless. Fortunately I have since found my old ones which feel far better anyway. Just because they are Stihl doesn't mean they are any good, they are definitely built down to a price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent value, average quality.
Reasonable quality blades, strong body but poor quality locking mechanism. Clearly not felco quality but you can't expect that for 25% of the price. Ideal for light usage or for someone whom is prone to loosing tools(I purchased for my mother whom leaves tools in the rain) , however I've had my Felcos for 20 years and they are as good as new. Blade broke instantly on soft wood!
Very disappointed as this morning i thought id try out my new purchases, upon cutting some red robin saplings, and a few other minor bits! The blade no longer shuts, all the top metal of the blade has bent back in such a way that its no longer closing i will have to now mess around trying to fix this issue. I would recommend just purchasing Felco 2"s rather than a cheap brand like this. Very disappointed!

Appears very study and sharp however as with all secateurs only time will tell. Purchased becase of brand name but was surprised to see the word Stihl was not emposssed on the metal as it is on other Sthl secateurs, does make me wonder! !. Seems to be exceptional value for money
I have only been able to using this product for a short while but in that time it would appear to be very good value for money. The only drawbacks are that as for more expensive secateurs, the catch does not stay in the off position and if one has small hands they are quite wide and firm, but not doubt will ease with time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
