  • Great Looking Fork

I was very pleased with this fork. It seems every mountain bike on earth has a front shock weather you want one or not! I hate the shock fork unless it's a lock-out type. But those are way too pricy for me . So I got this very nice Sunlite Steel fork. It comes w/ a very nice gloss black finnish & is ready for 'V' style brakes. I gave mine a quick once-over w/ some medium-fine steel wool & a good coat of metallic grey to match my bike followed by a couple of good coats of clear. A couple of high end decals finished the professional look. Not bad for an hours work. Now I just have to install & enjoy. Much thanks to Bill. Your knowledge & advice made this a fun & inexpensive upgrade. I love it now.

  • It does what it should, and very well.

It's a hi-ten steel fork so nothing fancy or light weight for those who care. I know I don't. I used it to replace an early 90s Rock Shox fork with elastomer "springs" and its lighter than an old - or low end - suspension fork and does the job just fine. As long as you can cut the steerer tube to length, set the crown race, and push in a star nut yourself its by far the most economical way to get a nice, rigid bike. If you have to pay a shop to do it, well, maybe not. And its black so color neutral.

  • Good way to rebuild old mtb.

I replaced rusted front shocks with this solid fork on my old Trek mtb. Re-used all other bike parts except I had to buy new star nut. Cut the tube with a cheap pipe cutter. Bike now works as a basic urban transport. Fork is solid and works with linear v brake.

  • Practical Part

Great fork for converting that old hard tail 26er mountain bike into a rigid commuter or gravel bike.
