Great Camera But Battery Life Is A Concern
I really like the Arlo Wire-Free Security Camera. It said refurbished, but it looked new to me. Maybe it was a return. The picture quality is very good, and all of the features seem to work exactly as described. I could only find two problems with this camera. The first is battery life. The six month battery life is based on only 5 minutes of usage each day. The more the camera is used, the shorter the battery life. If it is used 15 minutes a day, the battery life would be reduced to two months. Batteries can be expensive, and climbing a ladder to replace them will not be fun. I now wish I had gotten a camera that could be wired into my house's electrical system so I could have the cameras on for longer periods of the day, or continuously. The other problem is the distance covered by the motion sensors. The sensors have a limit of 20 feet, and don't turn on if motion is farther away than that. It seems shorter than 20 feet if the cameras are mounted near the roof of the house. I would have liked to be able to set a longer motion sensor distance so that the camera would pick up any movement in my front, rear, or side yards.
