Big and meaty with a single design flaw.
What do I like about this regulator?
Well... The valve knob is nice and small, very fluid and easy to move. It does have a lot of play, and I don't think it needs that, but it does take a few turns to change the setting by a serious amount. But, that is better than it going from 0-60 in a quarter turn, so I can accept that happily. The main cast metal body is quite bulky and finished with a hammered paint finish and looks very tidy and reassuring robust. The clear condensing bowl is a plastic or poly-something, which is built to stand the 145psi limit, but outside of that is a further metal cage, so in case of an explosion the metal will contain any shards or fragments.
The product does not come with any connectors, but I was aware of this and I also ordered the required male/female 1/4" euro quick release I needed. I fitted them with PTFE tape, as I wouldn't not do that anyway, but I had no leaks or issues.
The only problem is a design flaw with the supplied gauge tightening up against the body of the regulator before the thread is completly tight (3rd picture), but with the PTFE tape, I am not getting any leakage, but I will look to put a little extension in there, so that all the threads are tight and it is not scraping against the metal.
Other than that Silverlink offer a 3 year warrently, and for the price I think it is outstanding and better quality than I had thought it would be.
