Works fine after a few attempts!
I didn't really know what to expect. It's not exactly good quality, but it's not bad either. I quickly worked out how to use it, though needed a bit of experimentation to work out what size pompoms each circle produced! The pro of this item is, you can separate the two sides of the circle to wind the wool round (this is different from using cardboard circles, where it's a struggle to push your ball of wool through the hole to wind the wool round). Then you fit the two sides together before cutting - this makes it much easier. The con of this item is, when you've finished winding the wool, you fit the two sides back together and cut round each side. Then you have to tie a tight knot inbetween the circles to create the pompom. But it's a bit tricky to tie a TIGHT knot between the two plastic bits. I had a couple of wasted pompoms before getting a technique that worked. You might find this though, even if you were using cardboard circles. I would tie a single tight slip knot, ease off the circles with one hand, press a finger onto the slip knot and then tie it again so it was secure. It's probably easier to get someone to help you with this!
