Dropped right in my P226 Elite without any modification. Hold this barrel next to the one that came in my pistol and they appear to be identical other than the caliber. So, original mags work for 40 or 357sig, barrels interchange without any mods, uses same orginal spring...makes this a no brainer purchase. Buy this Sig Sauer barrel and drop it in your P226 for the complete change from 40SW to 357sig without any additional expense other than the ammo. It's a classic Sig barrel.....what more needs to be said? Very accurate and 100% top quality like they always deliver in the classic line. Any thing 226/227/228/229 in the sig line is great in my opinion.......this is a genuine Sig barrel so do not compromise, buy one if you need it. I myself prefer to load the .357 Sig over the .40 caliber, but if you have both you can use both with just a barrel swap. You CAN NOT do this with the 9mm. You need a whole new slide and new mags which I have because I own both. It is a versatile pistol in the 357/40 frame, just a barrel swap.
