good once you get it going
A good solid Machine , easy enough for a 70yr old granny to put together....but......could i get the blooming thing to go...no ....,yes i had charged the starter battery and yes i had put in petrol and oil, eventually I got it going but as the lawn had been newly laid and had been allowed to grow while it settled in , it was too long (6 cm)......and the machine cut out and refused to start . eventually got it going using the pull string thing, but it cut out again and nothing would make it go,( and yes i had raised the level so it wasn't a close cut......i have been using these machines for years. ) probably because i had made the battery flat in my earlier attempts to start it. so i used an old cheap flymo to shorten the grass and at last today it worked with the key and all was well though i was frightened to empty the grass box in case i ended up with a stalled engine half a mowed lawn......also there were screws rolling about in the box and one screw to join battery to handle had the cross in its top missing so couldn't be used. and the picture on the instructions was not the same as this machine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A fine mower, with a flawered design.
First use, after charging Battery for 5 hours, filling with Oil/Petrol,started and ran well, doing a fine job. Two weeks later, would not start on key, would not turn engine over, so tried pull string, would not start.On investigation, the front lever,( Pull towards you.)connects to a small micro switch, and the two were not making contact, so adjusted cable, so that it contacted the micro switch. Problem not solved, because of the small gap between lever, and micro switch. The micro switch position is not adjustable, and the contact is made, by a very small piece of sprung metal. There have been various eMails back and fourth, but all their mowers have the same design,meaning, should the micro switch fail, due to vibration/dampness etc., the machine key start is useless, leaving only the pull chord, not good for 78year old!. Their suggestion, is to drain fluids, pack it up, and send it for repair. If the problem has occurred after around 1 hours use, how is long term reliability, or did I get a dud?. As for returning, how do I empty fluids, turn machine on its side, or find a suction solution, but at 78 years old, turning it on its side, is rather daunting. Good machine. Good value. Easy to use.
The machine is well made, runs and cuts smoothly, is powerful enough to make a long run on sloped 1/3 acre lawn comfortable. The electric start is excellent and a great advantage for older users.. Delivery was on time. Assembling was OK for an experienced DIYer though the instructions could be better. The user's manual could also be better presented. The machine included a Hozelock connection point for cleaning but no instructions on its use. If the instruction paperwork was better it would be 5 star.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Mower
I purchased this a week ago after looking at several reviews and managed to get it built and tested yesterday. It is very easy to put together with only the use of a socket/spanner, charged the battery and filled with petrol and oil. It started first time with the electric start and ran fine for the first start. After cutting for a while I had to stop and empty the grass box is is a great size, and once again the mower started first time. I would definitely recommend this mower and another added bonus is the wheel size as this makes it very easy to get it out of the back door and down the decking without scratching the paint of the wood.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

well worth buying if you have a large garden
I didn't honestly expect it to be as good as it is ...! Ive had probably 6 lawnmowers over the years and this one beats them all hands down its quite a big Mower with plenty of power and cuts well our garden is a cross between a field and a garden if that makes any sense and it just makes it all so easy.....so much so that our drive on is up for sale .....! very quick delivery easy to put together and started very first push of the starter ( I love it when that happens ) its a big thumbs up from me ....... the only very slight concern is as its quite a big machine the wife finds it a bit heavy and as a result I have now taken over all the mowing ......Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Lawn mower
I was very pleased with this. It turned up fast and was easy to put together. I read the manual as they say first which is something I never do. Done exactly as they said. I left the battery on charge and thought I would try it on the pull cord. Two pulls and it started. Tried it on the grass and it cut lovely. Turned it off to empty bag then it struggled to start. Got it going again then turned it of after a little and struggled to start again. Then I remember reading a bit in the manual to check a cable to the micro switch. Might need adjustment. So reading the manual saved me me getting made. Adjusted the cable and starts first pull or quick turn of the key every time. So all I would say I recommend it. Lovely quiet and easy to use. The cleaner part on the mower is not in the manual. I contacted to hose to it and started it let it tick over. It got most of the muck of underneath. I am really pleased with this lawnmower. Firstly it’s well designed. I’ve used other mowers & found things like cable runs getting in the way or poor design making it difficult to use ,but not with this. It’s all been laid out really well. It’s easy to fill up the oil & petrol. It’s easy to remove & replace the huge grass box (which also has a handle on the back of the back of the bag so you can tip it into your bin easily) & it’s easy to change the cut height. It’s solidly built with all the handles being made of metal & is so easy to start. It is a tad on the heavy side but you are going to get that with a large mower & that bit of weight adds solidly. Because the battery for the electric start is mounted high up on the handle it helps balance the weight so it makes it easy to manoeuvre around. The handles are stronger than the Mountfield mower I’m replacing which is good as that’s what broke on my Mountfield. The self drive works great too. Easy to set up and use. Great value electric start mower.
Set up was pretty straightforward. Mower is really easy to start, easy to adjust, drives well and runs well. Also love the hose attachment cleaning feature as it keeps the mower looking prestine. A few items to look out for: 1. Its not the fastest mower - even on the high setting, so unlikely you will ever reduce the speed! 2. The battery really needs a recharge after use so its ready next time and you cant remove the battery to charge it. This is because you will stop the mower every time you empty the grassbox. 3. Grass box capacity isn't very large and unless you are careful, it can collapse when you try to unhook it - spilling grass everywhere.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
