Suction not good for wooden work tops, doesn't sharpen very well. Quite disappointed.
Unfortunately the suction doesn't work well on wooden countertops, as a result you have to hold onto the unit dragging a knife over the holding hand (not safe at all). That said it doesn't sharpen knifes like the adds says it does.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fab gadget!
I saw this advertised by a product reviewer, and as I normally just buy new knives when my old ones stop cutting I decided to give it a go seeing as it wasn't expensive. Arrived quickly and I have to say it's a brilliant little gadget. My old knives have a new lease of life now, and slice through tomatoes like butter. Excellent product great value for money
Delighted with this product. It's very stable on the work surface thanks to the suction cup so you can use both hands to steady the knife as you sharpen. Works brilliantly on non serrated knives - less well on serrated but still OK. Most of my knives are not serrated so that's no problem for me. It's very compact and easy to store. Don't get anything else..
Brought up my already sharp kitchen knife set even better, I tried a knife that I sharpened with the Anysharp on a fresh tomato, and just the weight of the carving knife easily sliced all the way through it in 1 movement. Brilliant product at a good price.
