My cat did not like to play.... until this laser pen arrived! She happily chases the red dot all over the place! She absolutely loves it and I'm pleased that she's working off some of her porkiness through play!

Truly awful laser. Advertised as 1 mW but output (green and near infrared) measured at 8 to 11 mW, and variable! The green lasing fluctuates continually between zero output and maximum on a timescale of a few seconds. All in all, unusable, and highly dangerous because of the high power and low, fluctuating, green lasing. So much for the QC (quality control) label on the device.

For the price, you can't really complain; it is a pretty powerful laser for £3.. However, as another reviewer pointed out, the beam comes out at an angle, due to the laser diode being mounted off centre in the housing. Not really a problem if you're making cats dance or pointing at stuff but I bought this to fashion a diy wheel alignment set up, naively imagining the laser would be parallel with the casing. I took it apart and attempted to rectify this but the slot that holds the board would need to be widened and then packed or glued in place properly. Instead I just reassembled and refocussed it and fabricated a holder with set screws to aim it straight horizontally in relation to my wheel mounted bar, which would probably have been necessary anyway to allow it to be calibrated perfectly. The alignment set up worked a treat, perfectly matching the string line measurements, at least.. To be fair, the (photoshopped) picture of the laser in action shows it coming out askew, so you couldn't have them on the trades descriptions act.Read full review

Good laser pen for the price and does what it should do, But the beam isn’t straight with the pen and shoots the laser dot considerably off to one side so you have to compensate whjic is a little annoying
