  • Dissapointing

The book is titled “Peipers war” and I really expected a biography of Peiper to be honest . The book covers major campaigns in WW2 with fleeting references to the fact that peiper was there. There’s so many references to other people it could just have easily been called “Panzer Meyers war”. The battle of the bulge , that peiper was heavily involved in , is skipped over and really only referenced in the context of the subsequent war crimes trials, even then almost as much time is given to others on trial as well as Peiper. His life after release from prison is covered in a couple of sentences and his final demise not mentioned at all. Disappointing really I expected so much more.
