Previously had a galaxy watch as previous versions of the apple watch always felt like they were missing one thing or another that stopped it feeling like a full package.
The apple watch has improved a lot over the years and I have to say the series 7 finally feels like that complete package. The overall built quality is excellent, the size is just right even on smaller wrists, the crown feels great to turn and the haptic feedback you get while scrolling though apps is very satisfying.
The screen now covers most of the usable space which is how the watch should have been all along and is covered sapphire glass (although I do wish the aluminium version also came with the sapphire)
Functionally the watch is now genuinely starting to feel useful. Whatsapp & messages intergenerational is seamless to the point I now find myself responding to messages on my watch from time to time which is a surprise. Controlling what music is playing on your phone is also seamless. I like the fact you can adjust the volume with the crown mainly because it gives me an excuse to use the crown more.
The fitness tracking is probably the most accurate I've come across and the heart rate monitor is also the best I've seen. The heart rate monitor is so responsive in fact I see it now as an actual reliable tool rather than a gimmick like on older smart watches.
It picks up if my heart rate gets a little bit too high at work which doesn't seem useful at first but sometimes just having something point out that your heart rate is a little high does make you stop and think "I did feel a little strange earlier"
The ECG also feel accurate enough to also feel like an actual tool, one that may very well save your life. Speaking of saving your life the watch also has some great SOS features like fall detection.
Overall this is the best smart watch you can buy at the moment even if it pains me to say it (being an apple product) it feels like apple has taken the same approach that Porsche has to the 911. It's easy to say apple keeps re releasing the same watch but what they have actually been doing is refining the design with each generation. This is probably the best time to buy as I don't see them improving much more without a significant redesign which could introduce new problems if they don't get it right.
