Additional InformationArguably the most widely known and most popular Depech Mode album; contains the uber-smash "Personal Jesus."
Violator has to be one of the Modes best albums. Still sounds as fresh and relevant today as it did nearly 30 years ago.
This special edition is well worth it, just for the film and bonus tracks. But also the high res version of the album sounds superb played into my Hi-Fi through a DVD player. Definitely a difference to the standard cd, altho the remastered version of that is pretty good also. I can’t comment on surround sound, as i only use the pcm stereo option. But i imagine it will be pretty good.
Most of Depeche Modes albums are available in this format, apart from Spirit & Delta Machine, and i have most of them.
I always invest in collectors editions of albums where i can. Especially where dvd audio is included. They often don’t cost much more than the basic cd. And are nearly always worth it.
Could certainly blow vinyl away, but don’t get me started on that argument.
The songs were of the best quality sound that you can get. My only problem was that I don't have a DVD player that will play the second disc that has four bonus track songs. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to get the right DVD player so I can listen to those songs.
