We had another one of these for 20+ years that is why we chose the same make this one is just as good the only thing I would say is that the packaging needs to be better when it arrived the lid was fairly loose and rattling around so the vent in the lid seemed to be too small have opened it up a little and it is better the steam was coming out of the side of the lid and burning my hand even with an oven cloth but now all OK you ask about value!!!! It's ok but...
There's nothing necessarily 'wrong' with this kettle. It is a sealed metal thing you put water in and put it on top of whatever heat source you are using. The water boils....so it's doing what it was supposed to do. BUT The handle gets very hot and isn't really comfortable to lift when it has boiled. It looks very 'solid' but actually it is quite thin material. We don't expect it to last long but who knows. We are using it and its doing the job we bought it for and don't see any reason to return it. When we do replace it, we may look at spending a bit more.
