Guards against larger birds.

Happy Sparrows
We don't have a squirrel problem, but, before we got this feeder our poor Sparrows didn't get a look in at the suet stick feeder. Greedy Starlings would descend on the garden and consume the lot in minutes. Now the sparrows happily sit inside the cage and thumb their beaks at the frustrated starlings and the content of the feeder lasts for several days. Pigeon proof feeder
