if they can sort out the fill tube it will be spot on plus if they could send me a new fill tube that will be ok to

works ok but for the plastic tube it was not the right size to big for replacing the oil in my lr3 diff fill tube hole so had to make adjustment to the tube and put a smaller end in the tube and then it worked ok

  • Most critical review

Would not recommend on it if you are going to use this often.

Did two final drive units (aka differentials), transfer box and gear box with this unit. I then threw it away to prevent me from using it again. On the pull stroke it drew in air, resulting in a less than 500ml fill. Having to do 2.5l of oil in a gearbox this meant more times getting from under the car and refill it. I tried holding it spout side up and push the air out so I could draw some more oil in, but upon doing that I Jackson Pollocked my front house wall. Not to mention the Rorschach's on my drive resulting from oil leaking out of the hose, every time I have to go back for a refill. It also struggled a bit with hypoid oil as that is quite thick. Quite some fore is needed to suck it up and squirt it out again. It did fairy well with MTF94 but it didn't help the unit started to leak from the plunger. I'm not sure how bad gearbox oil is for your arms, but I'll post an update if they start rotting away (and will have to remove a start from the rating). Quick tip of the above hasn't put you off: butcher a large milk container, clean it, fill it with oil and suck it from there without the hose attached. After you managed to get some in the unit, you attach the hose and fill up your whatever you want to fill. All in all: saved me a lot of money over having to go to a garage, even if you include my knackered t-shirt because of oil dripping out of the pump whilst manoeuvring the hose into a R380 land rover gearbox. But no, I will go for a stationary pump with a lever next time.

  • Oil absolutely everywhere

This syringe leaked on the upstroke and the downstroke and all hopes of once achieving this operation without a mess vanished in seconds. I've tightened up the internal nut in the hope that it will spread the rubber seal a little more but the mess was so devastating in the workshop that I haven't tried it since. This is the second make I have tried to make axle and gearbox oil changes easier; the first one from Machine Mart was better but also given up because of leaks. If you want to try a syringe I suggest you avoid these two makes.

  • This is a complete waste of money!

This is a complete waste of money, the seals pass on first use, causing oil to spurt out of the air hole at the top, i spent the night in a&e because the gear oil squirted straight into my face and on the floor! Do not buy this product!

  • Works perfect

Seen a few bad reviews about this leaking, I used it to fill both front and rear diff on a 2005 Range Rover sport and it worked perfect, didn’t spill one drop. I did put a jubilee clip around hose that attaches to the pump. Thanks

  • The one in picture is not what you get

The grey end cap looks removable in the picture. But it is crimped on like the blue end. The one in picture is not what you get.

  • Poor quality

Pump broke and spilled oil all over floor just before the end of the first job. Just as good as other Draper tools. Pay little - pay twice.
