Does what it ia supossed to do
Bought this to seal where my log burner chimney goes through my garage roof (Big metal plate round it of course) Seems to be good I got the chimney really hot once to see if it was OK and it was. Smelt a bit when the chimney was too hot but under normal running conditions was perfect seals well and is flexable when chimney moves a bit if it is windy Its the only one I have ever used so dont know if its better or worse than any other. Better than fire cement
After fitting two multifuel stoves used fire cement to fill the gap on the back edge to cover the fire rope seal. After lighting the stoves a few times the fire cement started to crack and come away. I used Everbuild high temperature resistant black silicone sealant and found it to be excellent and am very pleased with the look and finish.
