  • Australian blend Merlot wine kit

I have not been able to clear the wine despite adding more finings.i followed the instructions to the letter but a very poor result both in the appearance and the taste.

  • A very decent wine kit

I've tried dozens of home brew kits over the years. Value for money and quality wise, The Australian Blend reds do well. Generally, 23 ltr kits cost from £15 up to a whopping £120 ! The golden rule with reds is, you get what you pay for. Go to Tesco, or Wilko's and their cheap red kits are exactly that, weak, wishy washy wine, no flavour, no body, all looking like rose' rather than a full bodied red. Australian Blend is very good value, it's drinkable within 2 weeks, bur much better after four. It's simplicity itself to make. I tend to add 3 or 4 ltrs of red grape juice, at the start, ( 95p per ltr in Lidl ) This gives a deep red finished product that all my family and friends like. I've tried other kits of a comparable price, and Australian Blend wins hands down. Recommended.
