A most enjoyable strip act
I tried another well known product to strip a few layers of spray paint from some aluminium brake plates on a motorcycle restoration project and it was useless. It didn’t even slightly affect the surface. So I did a bit of research and went for the Polycell stripper and it was excellent. The first layer of paint came off easily after application and the stripper also brought off some of the undercoat too. I applied a second layer of stripper and it brought almost all of the remaining paint off, ready for me to polish the aluminium. The stripper was very smooth and thick, so it was easy to apply it in thick layers and after around an hour the paint was easy to scrape off. Powerful stuff
Having tried the more liquid paint strippers with pretty lame results, this came as a great relief to my muscles as I didn't have to scrape too hard. Keep the windows wide open as it is quite pungent and avoid any skin contact. All this is on the label.
