PROTEXIN CYSTOPHAN FOR CATS - 30 CAPSULES OR 240 CAPSULES This was recommended to me by the vet As my cat used to have injections for many years. She gets the odd one or two days still. But she is much improved on the medication. She is less stressed and she is very vocal cat anyway It’s really helped the cystitis and stress for her I use sprinkle two capsules of wet food, she has a tiny amount of wet food every evening, because she is on royal Cain urinary moderate dry food for cystitis for life. Highly recommend the Capsules

One of my cats has been having problems with idiopathic cystitis for a year off and on. I used this to start with and eventually she seemed ok so I just started giving it to her a few times a week hoping it would be a preventative dosage. Sadly the symptoms returned and I have been giving it to her daily with some days giving 2 capsules but still she was having difficulty in urinating, although some days she seemed to pass a bit more than other days. She has been to the vet many times had scans etc, and Cystophan was recommended. I have now started giving my cat a homeopathic remedy Cantharis along with the Cystophan and she does seem to be passing more urine at the moment. I am keeping my fingers crossed that eventually she returns to normal. I do believe that Cystophan is a good remedy for cystitis in cats but my cat seem to be more problematic than others with her cystitis.Read full review

I adopted a cat with a known history of struvite crystals and FLUTD. For years he was fine and suddenly (when we moved home) he became very withdrawn, struggled to use his litter tray, bled, tried urinating all over the house and had an upset stomach. For 2 years we were back and to the vets- then the last visit the vet suggested cystophan. We had him on 2 a day to begin with answer then reduced to 1 a day. His symptoms stopped. We moved house again - no issues. We did wean him off the cystophan but within a month he had another flare up. So back on the cystophan he went and (touch wood) he's been fine since. We now just keep him on one a day. Brilliant product with a happy cat and a happy owner :)

Early days yet, but giving to female cat who has had recurring cystitis. Many vet visits and expensive tests. It has taken 8 months to clear. Have seen good reviews regarding this product and vet did mention trying it. So far so good.

I think this is helping my cat feel better about visiting the toilet and making less visits but not making a complete recovery as yet, so of course if problem continues after a few more days she will be visiting the vets. The tablets have made her more relaxed about using the littler tray and less visits so the are working.
