Useful gadget
This does what it says on the tin. Monitors your electricity usage, and the amount generated by your solar panels. It also has a combined setting, which shows your net gain or loss, with a traffic light system. If you connect it via USB to a computer, you can get a continuous graph of electricity in and out. You can print out a daily totals as well, or export to Excel. A few minor negatives. The USB lead is not included, and is not a standard B type USB connector, so has to be bought separately. Although the instructions are clear, it does help to have a basic knowledge of home electrics. The software is a little clunky. For example, if the computer goes into sleep mode, the computer stops monitoring, and the time axis does not record this correctly. You can only get a continuous graph of usage and generation if you leave your computer switched on. Mine uses several hundred Watts, so rather defeats the energy saving purpose.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The product comes with all the accessories necessary to monitor mains electricity usage and solar PV generation. Also includes a PC application to generate graphs of usage and generation. Whilst not brilliantly clear, the documentation available on the website is sufficient to enable most competent DIYers to set up the monitoring system.
