Slightly dissapointed as the square edge...

Can work but to be really effective would require longer length, possibly with a wooden handle and the ability to strike much harder with a hammer. It probably works well for a lightly distorted channel but is virtually impossible to use on one which is severely flattened. Good idea shame it doesn't work
looked like it would have done the trick , but with in two minutes it fell apart the smaller head fell off and the shaft came detached leaving the head stuck in the channel and jammed in the tight part of the channel . my advise go back to a wide thin flat bladed coal chisel and prize the channel wider to accommodate awning tape .. I use a 3" chisel works fine and you have the chisel for its original design. WIN WINVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Did what it was meant to
Did what it was meant to & opened up a squashed awning rail. However, the central bar has sharp edges which can cut into the soft aluminium awning rail unless you are very careful. Handy tool
I bought an old caravan, and the awning rail had obviously been abused over the years. The awning I bought would not easily slide through the rail, and was tempted to use pliers and a screwdriver to open up the rail. I then found a tool to do the job, which it does easily and without fuss. You simply insert the spreader into the rail, slide it along to the obstruction, tap with a hammer if needed, and slide onto the next obstruction. A squirt with WD40 will aid its journey along the rail. The tool is double ended, two different sizes, so should fit most rails. Don't waste your money like I did
Broke on the 1st use.... 33 yrs being a RV repair tech so it's not as though I didn't know how to use it... it's very tinny and the bullets are crimped on it's not one piece which is what is needed for using it to bend aluminum awning rails back into place.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
