It is a very well known that these units will fail some times your lucky enough to do a reset. Ours has worked flawlessly since we got it. The one it replaced was 13 years old so I guess it was time. The price was very reasonable, so it doesn't hurt to have an extra for those winter outings. Looks like the unit is defective.
