Actual grid temperature
About 120 degrees different at grid surface to lid temperature. See the actual heat at the grid less guess work. The lid temperature is good for smoking but actual grid temperature is what is needed . Says do not emerse in water. Easy read with guid

Great surface thermometer
I needed a surface thermometer from the UK as this is an American product normally, so very happy with the product, it reacts very quickly to temperature, just be careful as it gets hot and needs a fork or something to pick it up and do not emerse in water.
