Did not do the job
Admittedly mine turned up with bent vents, so on the 'wind' function there was a dreadful squeak with every change of direction. That said, with 'wind' turned off (so the air came out in only one direction), it does did not cool, in fact the room temperature went up by 2 degrees. Followed the instructions and even had the frozen blocks in the water tank, but this didn't make a difference. Talking of the ice blocks, they are supposed to fit into slots in the water tank, but no slot is big enough! Disappointed shopper
I bought these because I bought a more expensive model from argos and because it was the same brand assumed they would be good unfortunately the air that blows out of these units is much weaker so unless you are sitting in front of the unit you don't feel any benefit I would have returned them but they were so big I decided it really wasn't worth the hassle I haven't switched my unit back on since using it in the beginning due to the annoying deafening noise I'm quite annoyed that I purchased 3 of these and have no use of themVerified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Brilliant alternative to portable air conditioning units!
Wow! I could not be more pleased with this. I really cannot fault it. A must have for anyone struggling with hot, uncomfortable weather, or anyone with a high temperature, hot flushes, or just in need of cooling down a room with limited ventilation in their home or small office. Effortless to use/operate. Simple settings with a variety of options including the variable timer settings which enables me to fall asleep in a cool room without worrying about it being left on indefinitely. Easy to operate and move around.
I know there's mixed reviews on these and having owned a different one previously can say that there is as you would expect from any fan noise, don't understand how people think it can be totally quiet! The higher the speed the more you hear it but its fine. The addition of water really does help if you suffer from hayfever or allergies.
