Sue records were a small independent record company operating out of New York City specialising in African American music.
The music they produced from the late 1950s to the mid 1960s may not as been as slik as Motown or as intricate as Atlantic records of the same period but none the less have a compelling quality which I find somewhat lacking in most contemporary music.
This compilation deftly chronicles the story of the label over four CDS with a well produced and informative booklet which will be a welcome addition to devotees of this type of music from this period.
