Clean signal warm punch
Nice pre. Good construction. I've always liked ART gear. Big round warm sound for vocals. Like the limiter and compressor the unit features. For a bigger and cleaner signal and better results I would suggest replacing the 12ax7 that exist in the ART pre with an Electro Harmonix Russian made 12ax7, or a tube that fits your personal needs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great pre-amp

Seems to work just fine.
I was a little apprehensive about several of the reviews reference changing out the 12AX7 to 12AU7. Although not a problem to do, I just have found for my purposes it will not be necessary. Unit is being used with an RE-20 mike to feed balance modulator of an IC-735 on AM via a Behringer VX-2496 audio board. I am able to set audio levels as needed.
