As the title says, this is a great game. At that time there was nothing like it. The 500cc license with very good graphics, gameplay, the entire season of riders, bikes and tracks (well made tracks, much better than the tracks from the SBK games) with only sound being a big let down. This game was well supported by fans through the mid-2000s with season packages recreating earlier 500cc years and the first MotoGP years as well - at least with bikes, not so much with good tracks. But this is no longer 1999 or even 2004, when having Windows 98/XP was extremely common. This game has a severe issues running on modern operating systems. Unlike a lot of older games with 16-bit installers, GP 500 will install fine. It will even run by simply assigning compatibility mode. But where it goes wrong is the clock speed and even with recent patches, this has not been ironed out. This makes it unplayable as at any moment during your session, the game may stutter or go into hyperdrive. If this game still had an active community, maybe a solution would be found and I would be able to recommend it. But it seems this will only live in memory and as such, I can't recommend it since you won't be able to enjoy it. But boy, it was such a good time back when you could!Read full review
