These patches containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ketoprofen can be applied on the skin and the active principle is absorbed well in the area of application, relieving pain and inflammation without having to take the drug by mouth. This technological advance from South Korea is good news for those of us with sensitive stomachs, who can take just so much anti-inflammatory without causing belly ache and nausea. The patches stay in place for 12 hours and no bad symptoms after the application. They are small in size, so if one has pains and aches in a larger area, for example somewhere in the back or shoulder, the use of several patches is required.
