An oldie but goodie
This is a very old kit. It started out in Aurora's catalogue, when the Skipjack first entered service. From there, the molds were sold to Monogram when Aurora went belly up. Monogram retooled the molds for accuracy purposes and re-released it. From there, it went to Revell Germany. But, the point is, apart from the huge 1/72 scale kit on the market now, this is the most accurate model of the U.S.S. Skipjack ever produced. I served on her for almost two years. My only complaint is that the kit represents the Skipjack as commissioned. Many features were added by the time I got there. A chance to relive my childhood.
I built this kit back in the 1980s and have always wanted to build it again, only this time cutting away the side to reveal the nuclear reactor chamber.
