    iDevices Switch

The iDevices Switch is a good product if you are trying to make your's a "smart home". Its easy to setup, the app works well with lots of features. Integration with Siri is not 100% reliable - you usually have to repeat yourself at least once. Hopefully that will change. Still, being able to say the words "Turn lights on" into your phone and have them come on is rather remarkable. Definitely better than Belkin.

Close, but needs a lot of improvement

I like the concept of these plugs, but they aren't always reliable. Sometimes they work perfectly with no issues. But frequently they require two or three tries to turn on properly. It's a little frustrating, but for my purposes it's still better than the alternative. I'm not sure everyone would agree.

  • a great device but....

I bough this to control the lighting in a Curio cabinet that we recently purchased. once the device was set up (properly) it really does work quite well. I knocked one star off the rating because of the set up process. even if it were a new device I could see this being a pain in the backside. I consider myself a bit of a techie and wow did I have trouble with this. it took me nearly a half hour to get it all sorted out. if you don't get the instructions with it make sure you download the idevices app so that you can get the instructions on how to put it into pairing mode.

Easy way to make your home smart. Control lights and other plug-in devices with Siri or the iDevices iPhone app (free). Set individual or groups of lights to go on and off at preset times. Easy instillation and fast connection to your home WiFi network - no password needed.

  • Better than Average Plug

Apple HomeKit integration is really great and makes operating the plug more convenient than most alternatives on the market (assuming you have an iPhone). App interface also is pretty good and encompasses other smart devices in your home.

  • excellent

setup or reset can be difficult but once up it meshes seamlessly with apple's homekit. i have a wall switch dimmer. be aware that wall junction boxes are not standard and if you have all electrical connections for the 1960's their products will most likely not fit into the junction box.

  • Automated Home

Quick an Easy to Set up using the iDevices App. Easy to setup timed action as well as scenarios. Nightlights aren't real bright but you can set them to any color you would like to. Make sure to use the iDevices App and not anything else. I have an iPhone and Apple TV. I bought Three of these units, paired the first one with HomeKit on the phone. It wouldn't work and I thought it was defective. I paired the second and third with the iDevices App and they worked beautifully. After a little fumbling I figured out how to delete the first unit from my phone and was albe the pair it again but this time with the iDevices App and it then worked wonderfully.

Wiorks great - I was a little unclear during the initial setup, but then realized it was already working. Can't wait to have my whole house controlled by Siri!

  • Power monitoring is awesome!

I got this to integrate into Apple homekit and it works great. I've used the ihome ones and they are about the same as user friendly and setup but one thing that the ihome lacked was the ability to monitor power usage. It's nice cause it gives an estimate of the price it cost in electricity use. I mostly use mine for a fan in my bedroom and it's interesting to see the power usage. It's also nice to hook up a lamp and really see the power diffence between LED bulbs. So that's been awesome feature of the idevices. I guess ihome now has a monitoring one but at the time this was the best one but I will eventually get one to try out.

  • Great little switch

I’ve bought four of these little switches so far and have had nothing but good luck. Well that’s not entirely true. I had a heck of a time getting the first one set up but after that they’re great. The “click” is quite audible when it turns on or off but that would be my only complaint if it bothered me. The app is functional and useful for firmware updates and some finer controls for naming or whatever.
