I have an electric sharpener for knives which is brilliant and bought this for scissors as am fed up with throwing them away and buying new when they go blunt. Unfortunately this Fiskars is not the answer. Its very lightweight so needs one hand to hold it in position and then you 'pass the blades through a few times' and however many times I 'pass the blades' they don't get any sharper. Maybe the kitchen scissors I buy are too cheap. This wasn't expensive - £11 or £12 - but if it doesn't do the job it's not good value and I wouldn't recommend it.
