Knobs are frangible these days...especially on cookers...and the ones on the cooker in this rented flat had broken years ago and been replaced by strange extended ones that dangled oddly from the control spindles. In contrast, these knobs fitted perfectly...selecting the right adaptor is the key, and very simple it is...now the stove appears rejuvenated and it's a pleasure to use.
