The strap comes with washers, Phillips screw headed plated bolts and rubber gators ready to fit. You will need to remove the old strap, mine was badly corroded and the bolt head is a torx type. The good news is that the existing bolts are plated so once you get the head turning it will undo easily. Coat the old bolts in wd40 and leave to soak in. Tap each bolt with a hammer to release the corrosion bond. Then engage the torx head making sure surface rust is removed so it doesn't prevent a positive grip. Then rotate the screw anti-clockwise and it should break free. If the head is chewed you may need to guide off the head to release the washers and then get a mole grip on the remaining stud to remove. Make sure all faces are clean before refining the new strap, you will need to fit the tailgate to get both bolts to locate, and make sure the strap is free to rotate about the bolt as you raise and lower the tailgate. Hope this helps!Read full review
