These belts work fine. I suspect any problems are the result of belts being fitted the wrong way round - or maybe letting the edge of the belt dig into the work-piece when the sander is moved sideways. The belts have an arrow on the inner surface indicating the required direction of rotation. The trouble with the narrow 9mm belts is that not every belt gets an arrow. However you can discover the correct direction of rotation for those belts by finding a belt that does have an arrow, or part of an arrow, and working out the direction of rotation from the other marks on the inside of the belt.
