  • Very good but a couple of niggles.

Having used the wet bath type of record cleaner which I found effective but slow with only small batches at a time, I decided to buy the Project one and works fine, still get a little fluid residue between the run-in and the label cover, plus on lightweight vinyl fluid is left on the outer edge run-in, but very quick and discs look very clean and shinny once done.

  • Works Great!

It was easy to set up. So easy that it initially looked too easy and I had to resort to watching You Tube videos just to check that I wasn't being a numpty. Using it is also easy. Yes, it is noisy to a degree, but it is a vacuum cleaner at the end of the day and strong suction is needed. The only downside that I can see is that you need to tip the whole machine on its side to empty out the reservoir; it is a heavy machine and this will not be an easy exercise when the time comes. However, I guess this highlights how robustly built the thing is. Results wise there is a noticeable difference over hand cleaning methods. I haven't done an audio test yet but the records do come out looking very, very clean. Just one tip: buy yourself a 100ml atomiser from Boots (about £2) and use one of these to apply the diluted cleaning solution before spreading with the incredibly soft goat's hair brush. In conclusion, it is a thing of beauty - good to look at, sturdy and easy to use.

  • Really good for the price!

Kept reading about this Pro-Ject VC-S vinyl cleaner and finally decided to buy one after seeing all the good reviews. It was delivered really quickly and arrived with the optional lid that I'd ordered as well. The build quality is very good indeed and the set up is incredibly easy to do. Cleaning both sides of a record takes only a couple of minutes once you get the hang of it and it not only cleans all the dirt away, but also removes fingerprints and dirty looking marks from your vinyl as well. I'm impressed with the sound quality after cleaning - it definitely seems to enhance the music on your records and certainly reduces the surface sounds and crackles etc. The records that I have cleaned so far look like new and for the money this is definitely worth paying out for. You won't be disappointed.

  • Superb Vinyl Cleaner

I can heartily recommend the Pro-ject Vinyl cleaner. I have just purchased it and used it for the first time today and it was so easy to use. The clamp holds the record on firmly and you just spray some cleaning liquid (which you make up) onto the record and brush it well into the grooves with the supplied brush whilst the record is revolving. You have two ways to to revolve and I found going one way for a few secs and then reversing for a few secs was ideal. Once this is done stop machine and place vacuum arm on record start machine and again go both ways for a few secs. The vacuum is powerful and soon cleans and dries record. Well the proof is in the pudding so they say and when I played 3 of the cleaned records this evening NO muck on stylus for the first time. Highly recommend

  • Revitalise & Maintain Your Record Collection in Pristine Condition

I've been researching record cleaning machines for some time and hesitated to invest because there are so many options across a wide range of prices. I did purchase a manual spin clean which isn't bad, but leaves drying marks and is a real hassle doing batches of 5 or 10 records at a time and then waiting 30+ minutes for them to dry. I was personally recommended the Pro-ject RCM several times and finally took the plunge - what a great machine! It has rejuvenated my record collection: old records that don't appear to have any major scratches but did snap, crackle & pop are like new and ready to play straight off the cleaner. Many record shops will charge 50p or £1 to clean your records with this machine, so if you have only a few hundred records it becomes a no-brainer. You can deep clean old & new records as often as you need and they will sound as good as your equipment can realise. I've seen some reviews criticise the noise made during cleaning - a small burden in my view when compared to the benefits. Can't comment on the "FREE Clean IT Stylus Brush" - still haven't received mine.

  • Simple, Easy and Effective

Simple to set up; fit a few parts, tighten a cross head screw, plug power lead in and you're ready! Easy to use; clamp record, apply fluid and use brush supplied., rotate forward and reverse then vacuum off. Vacuum has good suction, the noise is acceptable and not an issue to me, besides it is only in use for several seconds. Effective; noticeable difference in appearance and of course the listening experience. A very good cleaner, maybe the best you can get at this price range, and well worth it if you care for your vinyl. This is the starting point to hearing your vinyl at it's best, start with a clean vinyl. I have no regrets buying the Pro-ject cleaner.... apart from the record cleaning job I now face! To be honest when you start cleaning, you find it hard to stop.

  • An Audiophile tool

Seems a solid design, well thought out. Only drawback is the noise of the vacuum - perhaps a small price to pay for a clean record. Be obsessional with record hygiene with this device and you get what you sow. Warming up the cleaning fluid does seem to work better! Don't expect miracles with damaged records, poorly pressed records or records previously played with weighty stylus pressure. For those with a large collection, it pays dividends for time spent using this impressive tool. Forget about using that hand turning mechanical cleaner. This is a capable solution to a universal problem of inherent noisy records due to unwanted debris in the grooves.

  • Impressive results and easy to use!

GOOD - Easy to use - Does what it`s meant to do - dries the record very quickly ( two revs) Record surface noise is better than new ( unless disc is already damaged!) Sounds better!!! (was not expecting that!) Reverse spin option! BAD - Vacuum is loud but they all are but it is quick!

  • Amazing!

This machine is amazing. It’s so easy to use and makes your vinyl look and for the most part, sound like new. It can’t get rid of scratches but it does make the record sound clearer. Fabulous. Highly recommended.

  • Easy record cleaning

Easy to set up and use. As a test for the machine I cleaned up what I thought was an album beyond saving, but it bought it back to life. For the liquid I used some from my old Konsti machine via a plant sprayer/atomiser and the results are almost unbelievable.
