it's just a boring heater element
The heater failed on our Samsung fridge-freezer shortly after the two year warranty expired. (This is the one that fits in the fridge side). Don't know whether it's short life is down to bad luck or bad quality. This replacement looks to be identical and probably same as the original so hoping it lasts. Replacing it is fairly quick and easy once it's all de-frosted - which takes a day or two so best to have a spare fridge. Lot less expensive than getting a Samung repair though.
