This is not a finish but a paraffin wax emulsion, which is painted onto the end grain of timber to retard drying and thus prevent splitting or checking whilst the timber is being air dried or in storage.

Easy to use sealer
Easily applied with a paint brush, which can then be easily washed out with water. Seems to work well and gives a good seal to prevent rapid drying and splitting of the wood. Economical to use, and easy to store (just keep frost free).

A nice product.
I have been through over ten materials trying out various end grain sealers, varying from glues, cork floor adhesive, tung oil, molten wax etc. This stuff is purpose made for the job. A litre goes a long way, and I should have started on this ages ago.
