Great Scanner with Arch Linux
Bought it as a scanner only - regular scanners are either not feature friendly or too expensive or are not currently supported in Linux. Have not printed - bought with no toner, but it scans great. "A Foam Ball Lesson"
The printer price value was good. It was very dusty and dirty. There was also a lot of foam particles inside of the rollers, tray, and areas there should not have been foam balls (possibly from the foam in the packing). Once all the little foam balls were blown from the machine. All the fuses had to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol to remove the debris. Once the printer was back together the test print revealed specks. These little foam balls were everywhere. They were in the drum. I eventually order a drum and toner for the printer as we need it for coping.

Another great Brother laser printer
I have been using a brother laser printer for at least 15 years now. This is the third of fourth on I have owned. I have never had one fail and have never had to replace a drum unit. They were always replaced because the newer models were faster or had valuable new features. The MFC-L2470DW provided both. It is faster than my old Brother and has 2-sided printing and scanning. I need to create 8 copies of a 6 page report every month. I prefer to print it 2-sided which was a problem with my previous printer because it would occasionally double feed when printing the second side due to static electricity and once successfully printed had to be manually collated. This printer will scan a double sided original in one pass and print sorted copies, eliminating the need to manually collate. It will also scan single sided originals and convert them to 2-sided, sorted copies automatically. This saves me a lot of time. Only time will tell if this printer will be as reliable as all of the past ones. I cannot comment on the wi-fi setup or function since I use mine as a dedicated setup with USB connection. I have read other reviews complaining about the noise of this printer. I find it louder than my old printer but not objectionably so.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I owned this printer before. I love it because it is easy to operate. The settings are upfront and touch screen is easy to read, even without my glasses. The toner cartridges are long lasting. I replaced my cartridge once in two years. The drum never had to be replaced. Therefore, it is very economical to operate. The machine always produced excellent copies. Solid Printer!
