Upgrade your computing project with the Dell OptiPlex 780 LGA 775/Socket T Intel (0C27VV) motherboard. Dell used this device to build the OptiPlex 780 and other Dell tower computers. These motherboards can be used to repair or upgrade a Dell OptiPlex. They’re also suitable as the mainboard for many other prebuilt systems as well as your own custom PC builds. The form factor for this board is uATX, which is often referred to as microATX. It measures 11 by 1 by 10.3 inches. While intended for a desktop computer, it’s on the smaller side and can fit home theater cases and other accessories.This motherboard is based on the Intel Q45 Express Chipset with the ICH10DO I/O controller hub. The socket type is LGA775. That means that your choice of processors includes the Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad. Both of those CPU choices achieve a default clock speed of 1333 MHz. This model can support any heatsinks, fans, or other similar hardware designed for these CPUs.System memory support is offered through four DIMM connectors. This board supports non-ECC, un-buffered DDR3 SDRAM, and the memory will usually operate at 1067 MHz by default. The mainboard requires that one slot be filled with at least a 1GB module. You can opt for DDR3 SDRAM with a capacity as high as 2GB. With 2GB modules in all four slots, the total system RAM would be 8GB.The Dell OptiPlex 780 desktop motherboard provides four SATA II connections. These are available to connect hard drives, solid-state drives, and optical drives. You can also connect a media card reader, which was the configuration in the Dell OptiPlex 780. A RAID 1 configuration is an option for any hard drive you connect. For expansion purposes, a PCIe x16 and a PCIe x1 slot are provided. There’s also a Flexbay harness, which facilitates wiring the motherboard to the desktop case.The supported processors all have integrated graphics, and the Dell OptiPlex 780 mainboard is set up for that. Video outputs include rear-mounted VGA and DisplayPort connections. A DVI-I connection is optional and installed via an add-in card. If you prefer discreet graphics, then you can use the provided PCIe x16 slot to connect a GPU. This product also features an onboard audio solution. The ADI 1984A chip delivers high-definition two-channel sound.Network your PC by connecting an Ethernet cable to the provided RJ45 jack. This jack is powered by an Intel 82567 Gigabit LAN controller that facilitates 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The Dell OptiPlex 780 motherboard provides eight USB 2.0 connections overall. Six of these connections are accessible via the rear I/O panel. The other two are used to wire front USB ports on the case. The mainboard provides standard audio connections as well as connections for headphones and a microphone. A rear-accessible eSATA connection enables you to expand your storage options with a fast external hard drive. No audio with rear display port.

These oldies are still good purchases.
