The 80PRS is a single DIN unit that easily fits into the dash and provides outstanding sound and a wide variety of top-quality features. The Pioneer DEH-80PRS receiver provides four-channel sound with 50 watts per channel and a range of input and output options so that you can listen to a wide variety of devices through your vehicle’s speakers. The unit features a broad range of options for connectivity with an MP3 or CD player that is CD-R and CD-RW compatible. The USB port enables you to connect your smartphone or iPod Touch to the receiver and see the song, artist, and album information on the display unit. The USB provides 1 amp of power to keep your device charged. When your phone is connected, you have in-dash control to enjoy your favorite Pandora radio stations by downloading the free app to your phone or device. In app mode, you can select any of the wide variety of compatible apps directly on the receiver when you connect your iPhone or iPod touch. The Pioneer DEH-80PRS is Bluetooth ready so you can connect your smartphone to the car stereo system and make and receive calls without taking your hands off the steering wheel. In addition, you can use the Bluetooth compatibility to stream music directly from your phone to the speakers. The auto connection function automatically pairs your device to the unit. The head unit of the Pioneer DEH-80PRS receiver features a full dot LCD display with 192 x 48 pixels. The display and key illumination can be matched to the interior lighting of your vehicle with more than 210,000 color options, and the key and display illumination colors can be customized separately for a truly personalized experience. The detachable faceplate allows you to leave the receiver behind when you exit the vehicle without advertising that your auto is equipped with a great audio system, which helps to deter theft. The Pioneer DEH-80PRS is equipped with advanced features and technologies for outstanding audio, including Pioneer’s exclusive sound field technologies for which the company holds a copyright, Auto Time Alignment, and Auto EQ to optimize your sound experience and allow manual control of the settings. The receiver is equipped with three Burr Brown 24-bit digital to analog converters for high-, mid-, and low-frequency ranges to accommodate subwoofers and enhance sound reproduction quality for a more impressive sound experience. The four-layer circuit board design offers better noise reduction and a smaller footprint. The 28-bit floating point DSP offers precision sound processing and tuning. Other features of this unit include a 3-way active crossover digital network connecting up to three external amplifiers, 16-band digital equalizer, time alignment, MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifiers, and 3 sets of hi-volt RCA pre-outs for system expansion. Best sound quality and features at this price! Period.
Clean crisp sound. I love it! I recently replaced all my door speakers and added a 600watt 4 ch amp and 10" sub..I had an old Sony explode CD player with 3 band eq hooked up..sounded ok..but when I switched to the pioneer deh 80prs, i had all its eq settings flat and I was blown away the amount of volume I could go with no distortion..sounds ten times better and I still get to adjust the 16 band eq and hpf..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Over rated
Yes the pioneer 80prs is made with quality internal sound components but the rest like the nob ,buttons and face plate are not as good as should be. The face plate feels light and cheap, it's my second prs80 and same problems... Awesome radio
This stereo sounds out of this world I have it running A PRV 5700 series amp 5,000 watts driving a 10" sundown x series sub and a hifonics 4 channel 1600 watt driving 4 infinity kappa speakers' 6x9 3 ways in rear 6.5" 2 ways in the front and another PRV amp 400 watt 4 channel on alpine tweeters in the front and 8" mid bass PRV's in rear.. This is one of the best sounding stereos I have ever heard the detail and clarity is astonishing ...! The only flaw is the cheap look of the face plate even though it has stage 4 sound quality and all the bells and whistles they could have put a better face plate but I understand they had to cut a few corners to save money to get this out for a reasonable price also the instructions are kinda hard to understand but thanks to the guys on you tube for the schooling....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Best bang for the buck, loaded with fine tuning festures
I love this radio. It's the best bang for the buck that I could find, with its 16 band graphic EQ, auto time alignment, auto eq...it would be expensive to get these components as standalone. This is the best sound quality headunit on the market short of the 99prs. I'm running mine in network mode and the active crossover adjustments, eq, and time alignment features on this unit are unmatched by any other deck. to get the same features and adjustments you pretty much have to buy a source unit and external DSP module which usually runs close to a grand. I wish this unit supported FLAC files, and the face plate is very tricky to remove without damaging the clip in the top right corner that holds the face to the unit, I broke the face the first time i removed it to reset the unit and switch from standard to network mode.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Amazing Head Unit
For a 5 year old head unit- well mine was made a few months ago but this head unit has not been updated in 5 years. Now I know why. It's freaking amazing in so many ways! The sound id crystal clean even at low volumes. You can adjust your 16 band EQ right or left, you can adjust your sound levels front, back, right and left. You can also adjust your hi pass and low pass filters like never before. There is so much fine tuning one would almost think it's hard to use but it's not. There's just a lot to use. My only complaint thus far is the time to load a USB's tracks is a little slow but not horrible. About 10 seconds with a 16 GB thumb drive. It is firmware updatable but I don't know how deep that can go. I use to work with Pioneer in the DJ equipment division. They are very stubborn so maybe no more updates are to be had. SMH. None the less this hardware is dope and by far the best head unit I've ever encountered so if you're thinking about it- don't- just pull the trigger. Awesome unit
It has alot of features to crossover and equalizer your sound along with (3) 24bit burr brown da converters for ultra clean sound quality. The only receivers I know to sound cleaner are the older nakamichi cd400 and cd500 but they lacked the features that this unit has. Todays radios emphasis features rather than sound quality. Excellent head unit!
I love this thing. Awesome sq, dead quiet. Time alignment works great. Love the eq. Only negatives are no easily accessible sub volume control, and I am running a three-way active setup so I have to rely on my amps for one side of the crossover setting for each mid. The deck has an amazing EQ. Yes, there's lots of bands to play with, but it's the minor changes that make the difference. If you can hear the difference you can tweak it to a real sound stage.
