When gluing, it is best to only ever remove a part of the backing paper, apply the foil and press it onto the surface from the middle with a squeegee or a cloth. This will avoid air bubbles. Don't panic if you make a mistake: the film can be removed again without any problems (except from paper and cardboard) - the film only reaches its full adhesive strength after a few hours.
