Should you upgrade to PrintMaster 18.1 from an older version of the program, you can transfer all your completed projects into the new program. System requirements include a Pentium III 500 MHz processor or faster, 128MB of RAM, and 2GB hard drive space. To install this software, your computer also requires an 8X DVD-ROM drive and an 800 by 600 16-bit color display. Online bonus features require an internet connection and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.Creative works are meant to be shared with others. Love it!
Used Printmaster 18 in the past, but when Windows 10 was updated it made the program non-functional. Printmaster 18.1 is exactly the same thing. I am very used to it and can do lots of really cool photo montages with it. If you have not used it before it may take a little time to learn it, but it is easy if you are familiar with photo editing programs in general. I am adding a few montages made with this program with photos, clip art and items copied from the internet. If you like to do this type of work you will be very happy with this program.

Good features over shadowed by bad
Printmastrer 18.1 Platinum is a relatively good product. It is easy to use but with some concerns. There is no way to access any project files so the user cannot save those files to disk so that he has a backup without backing up the whole drive with a program such as Acronis. This is pure folly and very frustrating for the user should he/ she have a real data problrem and have to einstal the project files. Also broderbund has changed around their file extensions etc and fproject files from older programs such as Printmaster 18.1 cannot be backward compatible with the newer versions. Why? All of broderbunds file extensions are weird to begin with and are not viewable from other programs. Printmaster 18.1 is not really windows 10 compatible but will run on it if MS Framework V1.1 is not corrupt. Tried and True Creating And Printing Software.
I loaded this version in my up to date Windows 10 computer. I found out that I had to completely shut down my computer and start it up again, from a dead off condition. Once I restarted it, the software worked perfectly. I printed my project and the purchase paid for itself in 6 minutes. Thank you for offering this Wonderful Easy to use Tool. Check for Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 before buying this! Newer versions don't seem to work.
This version is for older versions of Windows so it's tricky to get it to work on some newer computers. It installed Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 on my laptop when I clicked on the install application and then it installed Printmaster. On my first attempts to use it the program froze up but after rebooting it seems to be fine and I made four nice birthday cards! I still have not tried to do a border again because that is were it got stuck the first time. Tip: use "Import" if you want to use your own photos etc. On my desktop computer it would not install Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 and so far I cannot get it to work. I was going to install it on my old Windows XP computer but the CD-RW drive failed! This version of Printmaster has a lot more features than the old Printmaster Gold that I was used to.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Oldie But Goodie
Version 18 is about 8 years old. My friend had a bunch of projects in a much older version running on Windows 7. She needs to go to Windows 10, but she didn't want to lose her projects. I bought version 18 for her hoping it will run on Windows 10. It runs fine. And the interface is the same as her old version, so she doesn't have to relearn anything. Just what we needed. Works well with Windows 10 and saved my projects from Print Shop 23.1. Great!
I had no luck opening Print Shop 23.1 after I switched to Windows 10. I approached installing Printmaster 18.1 with some reluctance, since nowhere in the System Requirements did it indicate compatibility with Windows 10. To my pleasant surprise, the Printmaster 18.1 installation went quickly and smoothly. Better still, it captured all of my old Print Shop projects and enabled me to work with them! Can't write a review -- can't install on my computer
I have used Printmaster Platinum v.17 for many years. I was able to install it on my new laptop about 3 years ago and it works well. I bought v 18 because I can't find 17 anywhere. I was hoping that v 18 would read my files from v 17 so I won't have to re-create all the files I created in v 17. Only one problem, I have tried to install v 18 on my desktop in both regular and compatible mode, but it just doesn't install properly. Will talk with some of my tech friends to see if there is something else I can do. So, I really can't write a review until I can get it installed. Both my laptop and desktop have Windows 10 and I have been able to install a some other older programs without any problems, but v 18 seems to be a little stubborn.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I've used this product for many, many years and always enjoyed using it. My computer OS went from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and it no longer worked, so I had to buy a NEW ONE that would be read by Windows 10. Not as good as some older versions but better than all other selling for under $40
Years ago there was no comparison between Printmaster and its home office competitors. No matter how much I told that to my sister it wasn't until she bought a new computer and loaded the then new version. Having forgotten that I told her years before to get she was trying to talk me into buying it. The more they have removed usable graphics from disc and added them to download, and over the same period they have dropped MANY superior graphics the less I like the product. Now with a 64 bit processor with any Windows version 7 or later Printmaster 18.1 is the only version that doesn't glitch or require work arounds.
