I installed this trap in our shower as the original trap did not provide a vapour barrier as the u-bend was too shallow. As a consequence, when the wind was in the right direction, we did get some unpleasant smells coming up through the shower waste.The clever design of this trap allows for a very shallow plumbing arrangement whilst still providing a vapour barrier. I must admit to being slightly dubious when I installed it (which was very easy) but it works really well. The outflow rate of waste water does not seem restricted in anyway by the design. The trap is relatively easy to disassemble to clean (of trapped hair/soap etc) although fitting it all back together is a tad tricky particularly now it is a few months old and has worn a little. The trap is well made however and is still working very effectively (not a smell since I fitted it). If you have the same problem or have limited space under your shower then this is the trap for you.Read full review
