The Best Guitar I own......
I have owned many guitars over a lifetime. I still own many and most of them would be classified as guitars that will be handed down in my family as they are truly one of a kinds. But this guitar was a total surprise. This is because rarely does a guitar live up to the reviews you see about them. As reviews are mostly subjective it is hard to take them at face value. Often times they are just a minor disappointment but they can also be completely off base. I researched so many guitars over a 6 week search and after all that I came down to 1 Martin, 1 Taylor and 1 Takamine. I watched You Tube Videos. I read articles. I scoured all the reviews and every one of them used the term "Love" in some way. Almost all of them had more than one of these guitars and that made up my mind for me. So I went ahead and got one and man what a incredible guitar. Everything about it is amazing. First of all I lowered the action to the same exact specs as my electric and "not one buzz, not one ghost note not one iota of a problem! It plays like butter. I purchased the Tri Ax soundhole pickup and that in combination with the under saddle pick up and the "Cool Tube" preamp is ASTOUNDING. I am also a professional sound engineer and the times I have spent dealing with the nightmare of an acoustic on stage is more numerous than I can count and this thing is like a "rock" plugged in. Solid, full, harmonically rich, texturally vibrant and as loud as you could ever want it to be before it starts to feedback. Lastly the woods are gorgeous and yes it is all hard tone woods. Rosewood back and sides, spruce top, ebony fingerboard and the inlays and rosette are incredible. The gloss layer is even and actually thinner than a other guitars but I actually like an acoustic to have light finish as it allows the guitar to resonate and it helps the guitar to age and develop the tones of a aged rosewood instrument. Look if you really are dead set on spending 3 times the cash for an equivalent Martin or Taylor please be my guest but I tell you, you will actually be missing out on a real experience.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
