XCOM: Enemy Within is by no doubt a difficult game to get through. Keeping your research, facility, engineering, and armory up to speed is tough enough, but building your army and strategizing every move just so you can stay alive and in the good graces of the world powers is downright stressful. This guide helps you gather your strategic planning and can guarantee that you will survive (maybe not your soldiers however) until the end of the game. It does a good job with meta game strategies and has a decent walkthrough. Since XCOM's ground battle maps, scenarios, and enemies are randomly generated, there really can't be a fully comprehensive step-by-step guide for the game. If you like challenges, this could be considered a great thing about the game. For what little detail they can get into, the guide does a good job of explaining the necessities of the game. The artwork is very nice, with full-page illustrations throughout. Overall, this guide is pretty helpful, but given the rarity of the print and the current age of the game, this is definitely something to mainly have sitting proudly on your shelf next to your (also rare) C.I.B.
